I'm updating this blog with something a little different today. ASL (not ESL). ASL is American Sign Language, different from ESL (English as a second language).
I decided that since I have so much extra time (hahahaha, laugh with me, please), I'd volunteer and teach an intro class to american sign language. When trying to post their homework this week, it occurred to me there were many videos that would be helpful to ESL learners as well.
Warning: I'm not a certified ASL interpreter, I just love Audiology and Deaf Culture...The class is meant to introduce kids to the topic, so, if I made a mistake, just post on the comments with your corrections, and have just some fun!
And for fun here's the Alphabet in Portuguese (LIBRAS, Brasilian sign language with added W, Y and K, nor originally present in the portuguese language - at least not when I was growing up, a long time ago... yes, I'm ancient.
Notice how Brazilians move many of their letters. In English, only J and Z have movement.
